Interdisciplinary Missions

The University of Pau and Pays de l'Adour (UPPA) has defined two values that guide its research activity:

  • reconciling science and society for a sustainable progress;
  • acting within a territory.

For the period 2022-2026, these values are expressed in five interdisciplinary missions focused on societal issues. Expressed in a language that can be understood by the greatest number of people, these missions are intended to encompass all the stakeholders in the region around the UPPA teams.

 

Each of these missions responds to at least one of the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and between them they cover 13 of the 17 SDGs:

 

The missions are structured in several autonomous programmes, each of which has its own production of knowledge and know-how, and is intended to be closely linked to high-level training courses. These five missions are:
