Created in 2006, the "Carnot Institutes" label is awarded to a laboratory, a group of laboratories or an institution that engages in partnership research and collaborates effectively with companies.

On 7 February 2020, the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation announced that 37 Carnot Institutes would be labelled for a period of 4 years. ISIFoR is one of these lucky structures that have been awarded this label of excellence for the third consecutive time.
