Kick-off Meeting of the MANTA Research Chair - E2S UPPA TalksBiarritz Aquarium

As part of the MANTA (MAriNe maTeriAls) chair, a chair of excellence of the E2S UPPA consortium, a kick-off meeting is organized on Tuesday, December 11, 2018, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, at the Biarritz Aquarium.
The MANTA university chair aims to develop sustainable bio-inspired materials with a very low impact on the marine environment and human health. The chair, which was launched on October 12, is based at the UPPA’s Montaury campus in Anglet.
Drawing inspiration from the ocean
The research program of the MANTA Chair is to establish “green” methodologies for the extraction of biomolecules (including biopolymers) from marine products and by-products to then develop bio-inspired materials, having a very low impact on the marine environment, especially, during their degradation.
