The fifth conference is given by Jean-Paul Callot, Professor at the UPPA and member of the LFCR reasearch unit where he is the principal investigator of the Chair of Structural Geology (in partnership with Total). He will explain salt grain tectonics.

Salt, which has been known for centuries to play a fundamental role for the life of human beings and the societal development, also has a very specific role in the formation of geologic structures. Following a quick highlight of its properties, tasty as well as geologic ones, Jean-Paul Callot will illustrate how this rock can deeply impact the development of mountain belt as well as oceanic domains, and its societal importance as well.
